Nestled at the base of Idaho's majestic Mountains , Roots and Ramble began with a simple unexpected love story—between Jo and Pillow, our beloved Lavender Orpington rooster. What started as a quest to find the perfect home for this special bird has blossomed into something far greater: a home and community established in 2025.

Our story is still unfolding, growing alongside the seasons and the life that flourishes here. Each day brings new discoveries as we tend to our space, nurture our animals, and welcome kindred spirits who find their way to our refuge.
