We Closed.
We're Home.
Ten acres in the foothills of the Cabinet Mountains — and a new chapter begins.
🌿
Friends, we have the most thrilling news to share with you: we officially closed on our land. Ten breathtaking acres nestled at the intersection of the Selle Valley and the foothills of the Cabinet Mountains in North Idaho, perched on a ridge that looks out over the sweep of the Selkirk Mountains. We keep walking to the window just to make sure it's real.
This place is everything we dreamed of and then some. From this ridge, the world feels both vast and intimate — big skies, rolling timber, and a quiet that settles into your bones. It is the kind of land that asks something of you, and we are ready to answer. We are finally putting down some deep roots.
"On this ridge, a new life takes root — and we couldn't be more ready to grow into it."
The first big win? An absolutely ginormous coop is already taking shape for Pillow and the flock. Those chickens have no idea how good life is about to get. We are rolling up our sleeves on the house too, and every project — every nail, every board — feels like it carries meaning when you know you're building something meant to last.
The plans ahead are big and beautiful: gardens that will feed us through the seasons, new furry and feathery family members joining the homestead, and a space intentionally built for connection — a place where community gathers, where people slow down and remember what it feels like to live in reciprocity with the earth and with each other.
We believe the land gives when we give back. That philosophy is going to guide everything we plant, build, raise, and share out here. Roots & Ramble has always been about that journey, and now we finally have the ground beneath our feet to live it fully.
We cannot wait to have you here. To walk the ridge with you, share a meal from the garden, and sit together under skies that remind you of the bigger picture. This is a place of peace, and we want it to be yours too.
The adventure has officially begun. Stay close — the best posts are still ahead. 🌲
With deep roots and a wandering heart,
- Jo and the Crew
